Thanks for the reference to New England. I appreciate it very much. I have a question not so much about substance abuse, but about depression. Do you know of any link between depression, anxiety disorders, post tramatic stress disorder and Alzheimers to heart disease?

Are there any good websites where I can go to learn about a link from these to heart disease?

If everyone had the courage to speak out just to their families and friends, think of how quickly the subject of addiction would stop being a taboo. And with that would come public concern instead of public scorn. And perhaps then the outcry would not be at the drug users, but at the lack of public policy and programs to help those addicted and to diagnose and treat the mental illnesses that so often accompany (and cause) addiction
